The Vaselines Music Hall of Williamsburg 5/18/09
Scotland's The Vaselines returned to New York and Brooklyn. Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee were supported live by members of Belle and Sebastian. Stevie Jackson was on guitar and Bobby Kildea on Bass. They opened with "Son of A Gun" and kept the crowd entranced as they poured through their set. Frances's talk of oral sex, taking off her pants to feel the fan on her ass and urine guzzling her cure her soar throat, kept an on going banter with the crowd as Eugene meticulously tuned his guitar between each song.
After seeing them live it is no wonder why they were Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's favorite band. He covered three of their songs and even named his daughter, Frances Bean, after McKee.
