Portland, OR based Y La Bamba's forthcoming LP Lupon. Singer Luzelena Mendoza draws from both her strict Catholic upbringing as an only daughter of a Mexican immigrant and a debilitating illness that led her to fall away from her faith, to create what LA Weekly calls "Devendra Banhart-influenced art-folk with hazy femme vocals and traditional Mexican sounds." Y La Bamba has teamed up with The Decemberists' Chris Funk as producer for this haunting full-band debut, out September 28 via Tender Loving Empire. Check out this track below.

This was interesting. Not the typical type of song I listen to (but who has a "typical" anymore), but the harmonies between the female & male voices made this song...gave it the song its vibe/feeling..
