During the evening, Grossi osculated between playing on a minimalist harp & customary guitar; all while singing in an operatic falsetto. Their performance keep myself and the best part of the venue with their eyes glued to the stage. The show reminded me of a cross between Antony and the Johnsons, and (rewinding far into the 80's) a very dressed down Klaus Nomi. The night's performance lasted around 45 minutes, and had a number of high points, including a their song "I’m In Your Church At Night" as well a rock-driven cover of the legendary New Order song "Ceremony".
All in all, well worth seeing. I'm interested to hear what Active Child does next. My recommendation: catch them on their 2010 US tour w/ School of Seven Bells. It'll be money well spent...
